Tucson has 350+ days of Sunshine per year...

According to the NOAA, Tucson is one of the Sunniest Cities in the USA.

What is a Monsoon?

Singular word that describes the all of the storms that form during the Summer Months. It begins with clouds building up from the south in the early afternoon followed by intense thunderstorms and rainfall which can cause flash floods. The evening sky this time of year frequently displays dramatic lightning strikes. Since many areas of Tucson do not have storm sewers the main thoroughfares can flood for several hours.  Drivers are encouraged to avoid these areas as there is a fine up to $2,000 assessed to those who circumvent barricades and become stuck in the high waters.  ("Stupid Motorist Law" est. 1995)
